Globalisation now allows us to travel and explore the world whenever and however we want. When it comes to English Language learning, you can go anywhere in the world, or just sit at home and learn via Skype. But why sit at home when you could study English in London?
Studying English in London offers many benefits:
-
Immerse yourself in the language
The UK is the birthplace of the English Language. You cannot avoid hearing and speaking English in London, everywhere you go you can practice the English you have learnt. History and Travel
London has had a dramatic history but the city has existed for almost 2,000 years! Every borough you visit has a unique story that has created an area unlike any other. Nowhere else can you walk in the footsteps of people such as Shakespeare and Winston Churchill.
Getting tired of the city? Sure, you can go to cities such as Brighton, Cambridge and Oxford but the United Kingdom has so much to offer with lesser known cities and towns such as St. Albans, Colchester or Rye; each place with their own unique history.
-
Food and Drink
Whether you are looking for a great burger, simple sandwich or a gluten-free, sugar-free, vegan cupcake, there is no doubt you will find it somewhere in London! With 8 million people living in the Greater London area, rest assured – you are not the only person possibly looking for something specific.
Similarly, if a traditional pub is not what you are looking for, there is a huge variety of watering holes you could go to. Fancy a pint of Oreo milkshake or customised cocktail overlooking the Thames river? No problem, there’s a place for everybody!
-
Work
London is one of the world’s capitals and with this comes various work opportunities and a unique pool of talent. People come from around the world to share their expertise and learn from those around them.
As a working city, London works hard to stay up-to-date and on trend and so, it is constantly developing and thinking about the next innovative idea.
-
Art and Culture
If you like modern art or specifically mid-16th century Scandinavian art, there is no doubt that you would be able to find it within the London limits. There are hundreds of museums scattered around London and the great thing: majority of them are free!
If you prefer creating your own art, there are many workshops you can attend, and people you can meet to challenge your skills and help you grow.
London is more than Oxford Circus and big red buses. It is a city that has developed and grown through difficult times and good times. London is a city that welcomes individuals from all around the world. London is a city that offers people new and exciting opportunities to practise grammar and vocabulary outside of the classroom.
London is waiting, come say hello.
